It's time to set aside any biases about cars and admit that Kia is designing some pretty slick cars these days.
No matter what brand of car you prefer, the 2010 Kia Soul deserves a second look and a test drive if you're in the market for a modern fun cheap car.
While we've yet to drive one, the fun cheap car quotient is bound to be quite high: 1.6 or 2.0 liter engines, decent rubber (P195/65R15 with optional P205/55R16; P225/45R18), huge amounts of room for such a small car, and looks that hint at real promise for what's to come.
On top of this, the 2010 Kia Soul should be a fuel miser, comes with a good warranty, plenty of options and standard equipment, and...did we mention the good looks?
If there's one good thing to come out of the so-called global economic crisis, it's a greatly devalued Korean currency (which means lower prices on Korean cars) and smaller, lighter, and quicker cars that get even better fuel economy.
Oh, we've been here before but this time it's the Koreans, and not the Japanese, who stand to benefit most--along with those of us who like our cars fun, cheap, and modern.
